Cakes on TV

Who doesn't love the taste of a beautifully made cake? Delicious icing gives way to scrumptious, moist cake. The best part is washing it all down with a frothy, ice cold glass of milk. If this description is your idea of an awesome dessert, then you may want to turn on the TV. New reality shows focus solely on the art of making a great cake. And not just any cake-a masterpiece.

Ace of Cakes

Duff Goldman is the owner of Charm City Cakes. The show Ace of Cakes follows him and his staff as they create the cake artworks their clients request. The show depicts everything from the crazy orders people sometimes place, to cake tasting, to delivery of said cake. Because the shop often has a large number of custom cakes to make, the show often shows the general rush to meet the set deadlines. Additionally, making some of the requests comes as quite a challenge. Because of the type of cakes the shop makes, you will often see workers using saws, sanders, and torches to complete the cakes.

The show has featured cakes in many shapes and sizes. One episode had each baker making a shoe-shaped cake to auction for charity. Other designs have included a model of Radio City Music Hall, a shark ray from the Newport Aquarium, and Hogwarts Castle from Harry Potter.

Cake Boss

Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey, owned by Buddy Valastro, is the focus of the reality TV show Cake Boss. The show features various members of Buddy's family who work at the bakery. This bakery also is known for making interesting custom cakes. The hectic schedule, crazy cakes, and competition bake-offs are depicted in this series.

For anyone who has a sweet tooth, these cake shows may become a favorite. Not only do these shows feature unbelievable cakes, they also feature charismatic characters. Get the idea for your next cake when you watch these hit shows.
